DO NOT PROCEED without DO approval.
No firearm may be carried aboard company aircraft without prior Director of Operations authorization and Flight Release leg notation per GOM §8.6.C. If a passenger discloses a firearm at the aircraft without prior DO notification, follow the Undisclosed Scenario below before boarding.

Pre-Planned Declared Firearm

Normal Flow
  • DO approval confirmed Flight Release contains leg notes from DO per GOM §8.6.C. If no leg notes exist, contact DO before proceeding.
  • Passenger ID verified Clear full-face photo ID with signature required — no exceptions per GOM §8.13.12.3.
  • Firearm manifested on Flight Release Must be specifically listed per GOM §8.13.12.5.A.
  • Company trigger lock applied Customer-provided lock or case NOT acceptable. Company lock only per GOM §8.13.12.5.D.
  • PIC retains trigger lock key PIC verifies lock security and holds key until aircraft is completely unloaded per GOM §8.6.G.
  • Weapon stored in aft baggage compartment Must be inaccessible to passenger compartment per GOM §8.13.12.5.B. Verify stowage location.
  • Alcohol prohibition confirmed No alcohol may be served to any armed passenger during the flight.
  • International documentation verified (if applicable) Passenger responsible for CBP outbound export documentation and destination-country import requirements. Confirm before departure.

Undisclosed Scenario

At-Aircraft Discovery
STOP — Do not board passenger. Contact DO immediately.

    Delay boarding
    Politely inform the passenger that company policy requires Director of Operations approval prior to boarding with a firearm. Do not allow the passenger to board while this is unresolved.

    Contact DO
    Call the Director of Operations directly. Provide passenger name, firearm description (if known), flight details, and destination.

    Await DO decision
    Approved
    Proceed with pre-planned checklist.
    DO issues authorization; update Flight Release notes before departure.
    Rejected
    Refuse boarding.
    Inform passenger that carriage cannot be approved for this flight.
    Cancellation terms may apply.

    Document & report
    Submit an SMS safety report regardless of outcome. Undisclosed firearms at boarding represent a mandatory reporting event.

Suggested Briefing Addition - Prohibited Items Disclosure:

"Please confirm that no firearms, weapons, or prohibited items are present in your carry-on or checked baggage. If you are transporting a firearm, please let us know now so we can ensure proper handling and documentation prior to departure."

Affirmative passenger acknowledgment should be noted. Any disclosure triggers the pre-planned checklist above.
